Booking & Cancellation Terms
FinLine is a non-commercial event organized purely on participant funding, with no financial buffer for unexpected cancellations. These terms are designed to be fair to all participants while keeping the event viable.
Booking
Registration is confirmed upon receipt of both the annual club membership fee and the participation fee. Places are allocated in order of payment.
Fees
- The annual club membership fee covers administrative and processing costs and is non-refundable under any circumstances. Membership entitles the holder to join all members-only activities of Street Gliders Finland club during the calendar year.
- The participation fee covers the event itself and is subject to the cancellation and transfer policy below.
Participant Transfer
- A registered place may be transferred to a replacement participant. Payment between the cancelling participant and the replacement is their own matter — the organizers are not involved.
- Finding a replacement is the cancelling participant’s responsibility. The organizers may notify the waitlist but cannot guarantee finding a replacement.
- Once the original participant notifies the organizers of the agreed transfer, the participant name and contact details will be updated accordingly.
- The replacement participant must complete all registration requirements, including submitting a registration form and paying the annual club membership fee, before the transfer is considered final.
Cancellation & Credits
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the organizers.
- If no replacement is found, the participation fee is non-refundable and will be credited toward the following year’s event.
- Medical certificates, injury, illness, or other circumstances do not entitle the participant to a cash refund. Participants are advised to arrange personal travel or cancellation insurance to cover inability to participate.
- Participants wishing to use credits toward a future event must register normally during the open registration period. Credits do not guarantee a place, confer any priority, or result in automatic registration.
- Any credit applies to the participation fee only; a current annual club membership fee must still be paid separately.
- If the subsequent event’s fee is higher than the credited amount, the participant pays the difference; if lower, the remainder is forfeited.
- Credits are not redeemable as cash and are non-transferable to another person.
- Registrations paid with credits cannot be transferred but may be cancelled and re-credited toward a future event.
- Outstanding credits are forfeited if no future event takes place.
Event Cancellation or Interruption
- Should the organizers be unable to organize the event, the participation fee will be refunded in cash. If the registration was paid partially or fully with credits, the credit portion is re-credited rather than refunded. This constitutes the organizers’ sole liability; no other costs incurred by the participant — including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or flights — are compensated under any circumstances.
- No refund or credit is issued if the event is interrupted or terminated after it has started due to, but not limited to: safety concerns, authority decisions, or inability to continue in a reasonable manner or timeframe (e.g. incapacitation of key personnel or a major accident).
- Road skating is subject to outdoor conditions. Weather conditions that render safe skating on the road difficult, inconvenient, or impossible during the event are an inherent risk of the sport and do not constitute grounds for complaints or compensation.
